Drinking wine, watching Fried Green Tomatoes on Netflix, and about to click the [livejournal.com profile] spnpermanon thread on my bb. I'm a glutton for punishment. :P

I may need a lot more wine after this.

ETA: Yup, lots more wine :(

Title: We Drank a Thousand Times
Rating: R, for adult themes and semi-graphic sex
Warnings: (highlight to read) Mentions of hate crimes and homophobia, non-explicit references to rape (not involving a canon character), original character death, references to underage prostitution. As well as angst and gratuitous bad language, but that's sort of par for the course with me.
Pairing: Dean/OMC, brief Dean/Cassie
Summary: They meet in a bar fight in North Carolina when Dean is nineteen, broke, and desperate, then again when a hunt brings the Winchesters into town a few years later. Neither one of them ever puts a name to it but every once in a while, through the years, Dean finds his way back.

Leaves are falling all around, it's time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged for such a pleasant stay.
But now it's time for me to go. The autumn moon lights my way--
For now I smell the rain, and with it pain, and it's headed my way.
Sometimes I grow so tired, but I know I've got one thing I got to do--

Okay. So, this is the longest thing I've ever actually finished, and it ended up being about twice as long as the story I was originally planning to write. First of all, I want to thank my betas: [livejournal.com profile] writing_racoon  for her encouragement, [livejournal.com profile] naatz  for smacking down my fits of melodrama and pointing out my characterization and continuity fail. Any remaining mistakes are my own.

I also want to thank [livejournal.com profile] ginzai  for her gorgeous illustrations, and everybody on my flist for cheerleading me this whole time.

And to all the nonymice on [livejournal.com profile] spnpermanon : thank you for scaring me into giving this a second (and third) look-over before posting.

A couple of notes on the story itself:

Rambling, navel-gazing, and vague spoilers. )

Hope y'all enjoyed--

I need to not read [livejournal.com profile] spnpermanon . Particularly the Big Bang post.

My dearest hope is that I'll have forgotten that community exists by the time I post my Big Bang (hey, it's a month from now, it could happen), because otherwise I know I'm going to go scrolling through the posts on my story and it will probably depress me to the point that I never want to write again.

If I had the fortitude to just avoid it, this wouldn't be a problem. Sadly, fortitude has never been my strong point.
