Guys, I think I've finally managed to get burnt out on SPN. I haven't even watched 7.01 yet... I suspect I will eventually, but IDK how much more of the trauma conga line I'm going to be able to deal with. I think I need to find a show where the heroes actually win occasionally.

Either that, or just go get massively spoilered for every episode before I watch it so I don't get blindsided by "just when you thought things couldn't get worse...GOTCHA!"

I feel like I'm in mourning or something. :/

/overdramatic fanbrat is overdramatic

I find myself agreeing with you, though I did watch 7.01 and I did quite like it- I just can't see where we're going from here.

As a result, I've been utterly seduced by the Sherlock fandom- if you're looking to branch out, I highly recommend it. There are only three episodes, and yet the fandom is pretty huge. That's love. ;)

for some reason a lot of S6 (and the s7 premiere) didn't really grab me anymore like my fav episodes do and I've been thinking about it. Like, is it just pointless negativity/novelty/whatever? I came to the conclusion that it's the (emotional) pacing and the different, almost garish look.

Yeah, this. It's getting so fucking bleak it's eye-rollingly laughable. And I wouldn't bother with the spoilers… they aren't exactly fresh and new.

I sense that next week I may be sitting down to Fringe Friday.

I feel the exact same way. Too bleak and depressing.

Definitely not alone there. I'm not feeling it myself, but I'm hoping to feel differently after the midseason break? The storylines aren't grabbing me this season.

♥!

I may have to check that out. I've found a couple of other shows that I enjoy, but neither of them have a particularly giant fandom and for me, fandom is half the fun of watching a show.

I think for me a lot of it is the pointless negativity...also, in a lot of the earlier seasons, they would weave the drama and comedy together in a somewhat subtle manner, and now it just seems like gloom and doom with the occasional slapstick moment thrown in there.

I've been getting into Burn Notice, although I think they're on a mid-season break until November.

I think the turning point for me was 6.19--there's that sweet little moment where we think they've at least managed to save the boys, and then it turns out, BAM, they're actually monsters. It just made me think back to earlier seasons when they actually did save some people. It's never exactly been a happy show, but this is getting ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure I'm still going to watch it, but I can't seem to get all that excited anymore.

I agree, I liked that mixture better than the disconnected OTT fun eposiodes they throw in these days.
