Do you consider yourself an adventurous writer?
Not... really? I've done some things that challenge me, but mostly I save stuff that's really emotionally difficult or intellectually challenging for original writing, not fic.
....I mean, I've written some really fucked-up porn, but not all that much, and I don't know if that counts as adventurous. And a good 50% of what I wrote for Captain America fandom was HTP fic that I never posted off anon.

Is this more accidental, or do you have preferences?
I like writing about queer characters (even in a lot of my gen fic, the characters are implicitly or explicitly queer), and male characters tend to be better developed in most canons. I'd like to write more femslash, but I honestly don't have a lot of fandoms with F/F relationships that are well-developed enough to get me in a fannish kind of way.

Are you still active in any of them, and do you tend to migrate a lot?
I'm still more or less active in all of them except Supernatural, which I quit for good sometime in 2012. Both Teen Wolf and Stranger Things are fandoms I really only got into in the past year or so, but prior to that I hadn't really been doing much more than dabbling in any fandom, and wasn't writing much for a few years.
I definitely migrate a lot, though. My really active peak in most fandoms only lasts for a few months, in general, though I do tend to post things for older fandoms periodically unless I've deliberately quit them.

Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?
It's a little surprising; I feel like I write a lot more poly fic for Agent Carter, but it's not that surprising. Supernatural was one of those fandoms where most of what I actually wrote was gen, because Sam & Dean's relationship was the one that primarily interested me, and I never shipped Wincest. So even though it's my most prolific fandom by a lot, there wasn't all that much shippy fic for it.

How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don’t plan on finishing?
While I have a lot of abandoned WIPs on FF.Net, I actually only have one on AO3. It's a 10K Daredevil fic that I dropped because I ragequit the fandom shortly after S2 came out. I feel a little bad about it, but not bad enough to actually re-engage in that fandom.

Date: 2019-03-10 05:31 pm (UTC)I have to admit I really loved the establishment of a Darkfic Space. I've been in two fandoms that did that (Trek and MCU) and both times they were canon (Mirrorverse ahoy!) and very successful. The main difference was that Tumblr being what it is lots and lots of people felt the need to loudly disapprove of the HTP, but in Trek people who didn't like darkfic just left the Mirrorverse alone for the most part.
But oh the opportunity to explore awfulitude. swoons with delight
